The Music Den is committed to digital inclusion and is currently undergoing a comprehensive accessibility initiative. Our Ongoing Efforts
We are currently auditing and updating our platform to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We have prioritized this project to ensure that our instruments, rentals, and lessons are accessible to all users, regardless of ability.
Key areas currently being remediated include:
Navigation & Keyboard Access: Updating site code to ensure all menus, buttons, and "Add to Cart" functions can be operated without a mouse.
Visual Elements: Systematically adding descriptive alt-text to our extensive product catalog for screen-reader users.
Color & Contrast: Adjusting text colors and background elements to ensure high visibility for users with low vision.
Form Functionality: Re-labeling our rental and account sign-in forms to ensure clear communication with assistive technologies.
Third-Party Content
The Music Den utilizes several third-party integrations (such as rental portals and lesson management tools). While we are working closely with these providers to ensure their tools meet our standards, we may not have full control over the code used in these specific modules.
